Thanks for the update. A shame we don't have at least a weekly paper, but you are filling an important information gap. Thank you!

Apex was 2,500 ppl when I grew up here! Apex, Cary, etc... even N.C. is not a Metroplex!! Rein in this growth now!! Look at what is happening with US 1 / North, Capital Blvd. They are turning it into a Toll Road to fund road expansion!! Raleigh, Apex, Cary other can stand this crap!! You are turning this place into the same place people are escaping from!! DFW, ORD, LAX, MIA, etc... STOP!!

Terry, thank you for trying to contain the expense trajectory of the town. As the town grows, most taxpayers expect their town government to be able to spread the fixed cost portion of the budget over a greater number of taxpayers, thereby realizing some scale economies in spending per resident. FWIW, I don't know many people in Apex who are clamoring for their taxpayer dollars to be deployed into affordable housing - a venture that is almost always bungled by local government everywhere.

$55k for a cricket batting cage is comical. First, its a sport that a small minority of the town would use. SEcond, why doesn't the town take the money and try to maintain the baseball/softball cages at ACP and Hunter St that are in horrific condition? How about replacing the dirt at the Hunter St, Kelly Rd, and ACP ball fields so that they kids aren't playing on what seems like concrete? I sent an email to the town council previously but it fell on deaf ears.

Where can I find more details about the $8k proposal for a general gun safety program?

No details yet - it was sort of made generic and we asked staff to propose some options. CM Gray had the thought of a safe storage program.

Thanks for this good news. Quick question about the 20% cut. When the Council increased their compensation a few years ago, how does this reduction compare to that increase?

Total Council+Mayor compensation (not the increase, just the total) is $100k. A few years ago our raise was up a couple thousand each to total something like 15k for Council members and 20k or so for the Mayor
